William McGowin, IV

William (“Judge”) T. McGowin, IV has practiced law in Mobile for over 30 years, and during that time has focused his practice exclusively on tax, estate planning, probate, corporate, business, and nonprofit law. Judge earned his B.A. from the University of the South at Sewanee, his J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law, and his LL.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law.

Judge assists individuals and families with estate planning and business succession, and advises numerous small to medium sized businesses on all aspects of forming, running, restructuring, and transferring their operations. Judge also represents taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service and the Alabama Department of Revenue. Judge is admitted to practice law in the State of Alabama and the US Tax Court. Judge is a member of the Mobile Estate Planning Council and has served on its Executive Committee.
