Mr. Roedder possesses the type of extensive knowledge in his signature areas of practice which only four decades of diligent work can yield. That experience, coupled with a commitment to staying current with the most important legal developments and information, make him a formidable advocate for his clients.

Mr. Roedder’s career has included scores of significant cases. Recent successes include:
- Defended a tire retailer in blowout case involving three deaths and one injury; the case involved allegations of product liability and negligence regarding the sale of aged tires.
- Defended a major automotive manufacturer in a products liability case involving a guarding device for the rear of the wrecker manufactured by the client. The case involved three deaths and one injury.
- Defended a major maritime client in a commercial dispute involving 80 barges worth tens of millions of dollars
- Defended the directors of corporation against allegations of breach of fiduciary duties in the management of the company’s assets worth tens of millions of dollars over time.
Has defended numerous class action cases, such as:
- Defended a siding manufacturer in a national class action alleging defective hardboard siding.
- Defended an insurance carrier in a class action involving motorcycle insurance coverage issues. Class allegations dismissed and individual plaintiffs settled.
- Defended several carriers in separate class actions involving “interest-sensitive” insurance products. In one case class allegations were dismissed and summary judgment granted on appeal. In the other, settlement was negotiated and implemented statewide.
- Defended a financial services entity in a suit brought by a national class involving “forced-placed” insurance. Also defended an insurance carrier in another, separate case involving “forced-placed” insurance.
- Defended an insurance carrier in a class action involving diminished value claims. Summary judgment granted.
- Defended an insurance carrier in a class action involving allegations regarding betterment adjustments for insurance claims.
- Defended a carrier in separate class actions in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina, which eventually lead to a nationwide class settlement, administered by McDowell, Knight, Roedder & Sledge, LLC.
Away from the office, Mr. Roedder enjoys golf and fishing. He loves spending time with Gwen, his wife of 40 years, along with his children and grandchildren. He also teaches an adult Bible study class.
