Walt Gilmer practices in the field of general civil litigation, with an emphasis on insurance-related and commercial litigation, employment litigation, professional and products liability and other complex matters. He was born in Birmingham, Alabama, and was admitted to the Alabama State Bar in 1986. Walt graduated from The University of Alabama, B.A. cum laude 1983, and from The University of Alabama School of Law, J.D. 1986, where he served on the Editorial Board and as Associate Editor of the Alabama Law Review, 1984-1986, and was in the Bench and Bar Legal Honor Society. Walt has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America. He has also been listed in Global Register's Who's Who in Executives and Professionals and the Outstanding Lawyers of America. Walt is a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel, the International Claim Association, the Defense Research Institute, Inc., and the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association. He is also the firm's contact for "The Select List of Law Firms for the Defense of Life, Health and Disability Insurance". Walt serves on the Board of Trustees of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (Alabama Chapter.)
