Current date: Sunday, September 5, 2010 Defense Verdict in Crashworthiness Case Friday, Aug 14th, 2009 Ed Sledge and Craig Hamilton recently obtained a defense verdict for an automobile manufacturer in a products liability-crashworthiness jury trial in the Circuit Court of Mobile County, Alabama. Plaintiff criticized the vehicle design, including parameters for airbag and seatbelt pretension deployment, the structural stiffness of the vehicle, and the center console. During the week long trial, the defense team, consisting of both in-house engineers and retained independent experts, demonstrated to the jury that the design was state-of-the-art at the time of manufacture.
